Useful references https://davereaboi.substack.com/p/national-divorce-in-the-news and his article on that divorce. And even our UK ezine https://unherd.com/2021/10/the-triumph-of-americas-ruling-class discusses the issue referencing Codevilla who I was not following. On his way to the grave Codevilla penned https://www.tabletmag.com/sections/news/articles/american-exodus-angelo-codevilla-oligarchy. And his 2014 book has become a must read.

"The American Revolution, the Constitution, and two centuries of custom endow traditionally minded Americans, conservatives and others, with the preference and habit of living as they please and letting others do the same. They understand concepts like virtue, righteousness, and leadership in terms of the duty to live exemplary lives themselves, not to force others to do so. The enlightened oligarchy and its elite servant classes follow Woodrow Wilson’s progressive dogma: “If you will think about what you ought to do for other people, your character will take care of itself.” - That really expresses a thought that we traditionalists have - we leave others alone to believe what they wish, our opponents demand you accept their beliefs.

I do see we traditionalists are witnessing the hazards of expecting power mad politicians to at least pay lip service to the public. But they seem stuck in their bubble unable to sense the anger that is growing. After seeing the policy failures of Biden and his merry band of experts, I fear for the next few years.

docēre

The word doctor comes from the Latin word for "teacher," itself from docēre, meaning "to teach."

Good morning, William. I enjoyed your post about Qanon so much I visited The Dissedent Page, wondering why I didn't get your essays and research in my email inbox (as I do with other writers whose posts I subscribe to). I thought I'd subscribed a few months ago and now I see no option for readers to subscribe. What's up with that? PS. (a blatant self-promotion, here) I've put some German lingo in my latest essay. Synchronicity makes the world go round.
